A day for defence

To be honest I was very disappointed not to get anything from the game today but what I was not disappointed with was the game itself, both teams gave us a great game of rugby.

I was really impressed with the effort of our boys today it was a fast game and with only one sub the boys were asked to do a lot of work.
Pilks didn't start the game well and dropped the ball on the first possession right near our own line and to be honest I could not have been prouder with what happened next, they defended the line like their lives depended on it and the attitude was great.
But this was a game of defence's and the first half finished one try a piece.

The second half was much the same and although Pilks crossed the line on three separate occasion's two tries were chalked off for going into touch and one disallowed as it was adjudged the ball was dropped over the line.
To be fair to the coaching staff of Golborne all the players were warned before the match that the refereeing would be strict.
Golborne scored the only try of the second and went on to win the game two tries to one.

Honorary captain Nathan Flynn was great again this week protecting the wing like he always does and gaining good ground with every carry.

Max Nevitt was awarded player of the match after a great performance in attack really stepping up his running this week.

Tackler of the match Ryan Halsall got this award not just for the amount of tackling, but for his technic as well and scored Pilks only try.

Jack McIntyre was awesome this week saving the game on at least four occasions and this was the reason he got the parents choice award with a such an over whelming amount of votes.

Kyle Monteith was brave this week putting his body on the line to save a try and getting injured in the tackle but after having a bit of a breather was right back in the game.

Sam Nevitt was high on the tackle count again this week and was unlucky not to score.

With good performances from Ben Lynch, Joseph Hunter, Dezi Wilkinson and George Donoghue this was a good team performance.

Featured player of the week is Max Nevitt

If I am completely honest, after looking at the stats there was a couple of players who didn't do there fare share in defence and if we want to win close games like this everyone has to do their bit so this is something we will talk about.

Well done keep it up.
