Encouraging start

Pilks entertained a defensively very well drilled Hindley side , in very heavy conditions ,and did themselves extremely proud.
Hindley ran out 10- 7 winners in a very evenly contested match.
Pilks try scorers were James Hatton, Noah Heaton, Josh Hunt with a try apiece with Connor Stubbs and Billy Traynor both grabbing a brace.
Try scoring aside I have to say that even though we conceded 10 tries defensively we were really good ,with everyone getting stuck in.

Captain today was Harvey Cathcart , and like a true captain ,he lead from the front charging in at every opportunity making valuable meters for the team.
Also playing a vital role today were

Ethan Cranny, who was excellent in both attack and defence.

Max Fear who's tricky running and fast feet had the defence guessing every time he had the ball.

Noah Heaton , who's persistence with the ball got him a superb try and aggression in defence was superb.

Josh Hunt , who's strength in both defence ant running the ball was amazing, rewarding him with a excellent try.

Aaron King who was brilliant defensively, really getting stuck in.

Joe Stott, who for his first game showed real bravery charging in with the ball and taking some big hits.

Billy Traynor, who is becoming a real leader in the team organising both attack and defence.

today's Top Tackler went to James Hatton. He was absolutely amazing today. He's one on one tackling was unbelievable at times on player nearly twice his size.

Today's Parents Choice Man of the Match went to Connor Stubbs. I've only ever coached Connor in 3 matches an every time he's been brilliant for me, an absolute joy to work with.

All in all a very encouraging start to the season, and I can only see us getting better as a team as the season goes on. Really , really proud of every one of the boys today .

Well done boys
KEEP IT UP!
