Great effort boys

Pilks visited Culcheth earlier today looking to build on recent positive displays. The game was played in beautiful weather for rugby, and in great spirits between two good sides.
firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to Chris Taylor and everyone with the under 7's for lending us three players today, without whom we would have really been struggling for numbers. Zac Atherton , Isaac Hayes, and Logan Parr all moved up to the higher age group. Each one of the lads should feel really proud of themselves, they did themselves, their parents, coaches and everyone involved with the u7's really proud.
Pilks struggled against a very well drilled Culcheth side, eventually going down to 13-7 defeat. Recs were great both with the ball and without for the first three quarters of the game but eventually ran out of steam in the final quarter making the score line look more one sided than it actually was.

Our captain for today was Josh Hunt. Josh really led from the front both in defence and attack . He has been consistently good all season and today was no different. Josh's strong running and superb support play , grabbed him another two try's. he also made some superb last ditch tackles to save certain try's.

Also playing today was.

Aaron King , who's fast , elusive runs made valuable meters for the side on numerous occasions . He also got himself another try for the season, and defended his channel really well.

Zac Atherton, Zac's strong runs and bravery in defence was amazing for a lad his size to put himself into every tackle with such bravery was amazing. Well done Zac!

Connor Stubbs , WOW! What a game, when this lad puts his mind to it he really is unstoppable . He scored nearly every time he got the ball today grabbing an amazing four try's. He also really got stuck in, in defence.

Harvey Cathcart. Last week was probably his best game for Recs but today was a close second. he is a frightening prospect when he charges onto the ball, making big metres every time he gets the ball. he also made some great tackles today.

Logan Parr , a great lad with a good attitude . He was always there at dummy half when needed , and he made some fantastic runs .Most impressive though was his defence. He never once took a backward step and made some excellent one on one tackles.

Ethan Cranny, Ethan was excellent today. He was great running with the ball, making valuable meters. But defensively he was sound hardly missing a tackle .

Jak Davies, he was superb again today ,he really is starting to love his rugby which is great to see. His one on one tackling is great and he is running onto the ball really well.

Noah Heaton, consistently good every week and today was no different . Noah is a really strong runner and hard to bring down but defensively he's really sound and organises his team well.

Isaac Hayes. he was playing up for the first time today and did himself really proud. He charged the ball in welland created a try with an excellent pass.

I gave two top tackler awards today.
First I awarded to Josh hunt , who every week never gives up in defence, Today he made two or three try savers.
I also gave it to Logan Parr , who for a lad his size showed no fear tackling anything that moved.

Todays parents choice M.O.M went to , unsurprisingly Connor Stubbs, with four try's and some great tackling it was thoroughly deserved.

Well done boys...... KEEP IT UP!
