Orrell st James 34-42 Pilks Recs Academy

Today our under 11's made the short trip to Orrell , to play our rearranged fixture postponed from earlier in the season.
The conditions were perfect for rugby league.
Both sides set out to play some great expansive rugby.
Recs took an early 18-0 lead with try's from Brad Abbot ,Connor Stubbs and Owen Walkden . The latter coming after a great team passing move creating an overlap for Owen to race clear under the posts. Three try's from Orrell with Connor Stubbs grabbing another inbetween, meant that Pilks lead at half time was 16-24.

The second half was much the same with both sides scoring three try's apiece. Pilks try scorers were Lee Walkden and George Edmundson both with opportunist scoots from dummy half. And the last score coming from Liam Wright in the corner after a great run and offload by Aaron King.
Can't finish this report without a special mention for our pocket rocket Tom Binsteed . The smallest player on our side put in an awesome defensive display on one occasion stopping a certain try when their biggest, strong running player ran straight at him. Tom wrapped him up to the biggest cheer of the day.
Also well done to Jake Robinson on debut who worked really hard for the team.
