On Thursday evening, the young Recs made the short trip to our near neighbours.
In what was a real tough test both sides played some excellent stuff.
The first half was a really tight affair with defences definitely on top. Both sets of players finding it hard to break through the tough defensive middles. The breakthrough came when some excellent passing out to our left edge saw Connor Stubbs outpace the Brook defence and go in the corner. Brook hit back with a great try of their own. Only for Connor Stubbs to score an almost identical try to his first.
Half time Blackbrook 6-10 Pilks Recs.
The second half was a carbon copy of the first with both sets of players not giving an inch in defence. Another full length try from Connor completed a fine hat trick. But the hosts wouldn't lie down and hit back straight away.
The game was settled with an opportunist scoot from dummy half by James Martland on debut after a strong run by Josh Yates, also playing his first game for the side.
Full time Blackbrook 12-22 Pilks Recs u11s.
