Great effort boys

Today our under 13s played host to our local rivals Blackbrook Blues.
After an impressive start to the campaign last week the lads were fired up to take the spoils in this local Derby.
The first half started and Recs got off to a blistering start with two quick full length trys from the ever impressive Connor Stubbs.
The Blues hit back with a try of their own After a couple of penalties went against Recs giving Brook excellent field position to drive over the line.
But it was Pilks who ended the half as they started it with two more superb team trys, both down our right edge. The first passing move creating an overlap for Brad Abbott to race clear. The second though was probably the highlight of the match. Another great passing move and a show and go from Ellis Horton sent him through with only full to beat. He made the tackle but Horton flicked the ball inside to the supporting Billy Traynor to race under the posts
Half time
Pilks 24-6 Blackbrook

The second half saw the Blues start well scoring early. And for the second week running us having a player sin binned the comeback looked on.
But Recs defence stepped up their efforts to stop the visitors scoring whilst we was down to twelve.
It was the hosts that scored with another full length effort , this time from Lewis Graham
That was followed by another solo effort from a quick tap penalty, and jinking run from Brad Abbott.
Brook hit back with another try of their own . but the lads weren't finished there, and scored a late, thoroughly deserved try from the very impressive Ellis Horton
