It had been a bit of a scrappy opening, with both sides coughing up possession early on.
But with 14 minutes on the clock, Josh O’Connell was able to get to a kick and ground the
ball out wide. He then converted his own try for a six-point lead.

Just three minutes later, O’Connell was at the double, as he supported a break from George
Hannon to grab his second. He then took his personal tally to 12 with the conversion.

This seemed to settle Pilks down, and they got their third just before the half-hour. Harry
Coleman’s break got the visitors up the field, and they moved the ball well out to the right,
Tom Eastwood was then able to finish out wide.

Their fourth try came on the brink of half-time, with Coleman getting the ball from short range
and running into the corner to score.

Just eight minutes into the second half, the visitors extended their lead, with Eastwood
grabbing his second straight from a scrum and Pilks had forced an error.

The scoring was completed when Hannan broke the line and got over under the posts.
Coleman took over the kicking duties and added two more.

Pilks return to competitive action on Saturday, as they welcome Keighley Albion to Ruskin
Drive in the BARLA Cup.
