Pilkington Recs U7's travelled to Golborne to face a team which as the score line suggests were on equal par. In a very fair and good mannered game which saw good sportsman ship shown by both sides, a good time was had by all.
Pilkington Recs never make it easy on the coaches and today was no exception making it almost impossible to pick a player of the match with so many players in the running.
Liam Coughlin captained the side to their first win and played like a true captain running straight and strong every time he took the ball in, Nathan Flynn was awarded player of the match for his good all round performance showing what he is capable of at any given time, Zak Mulcahy received coaches choice for his 4 tries and strong defence, Jake Abel snapped up 3 tries and the parents choice certificate.
Harry Thompson scored his second try of the season after shrugging off player after player. Jack Thompson Smith and Will Eskrick both played the best games they have played to date, both these two took great leaps forward in their running games. Ryan Halsall tackled well and ran strong and straight as always and Ben Lynch after making the brave decision that he is not quiet ready to play at this stage of the season proved he is still a valuable and popular member of this team by bringing the water on for the players after every try.
Congratulations Pilks keep it up
