Pilkington Recs U7's played Woolston at home on a sunny Sunday morning. After losing a couple of players just before kick off Pilks had to loan a player from Woolston and as usual Pilk's welcomed the loaned players with the same good will and sportsmanship they always do.
Pilks from start to finish worked hard, played well and made Woolston work for every try. Woolston had to come up with some good individual running from distance and some great passing to breakdown the Pilks defence. Pilks had their fare share of chances and made good progress with every set of six, but unfortunately couldn't quiet break the Woolston try line.
Honorary Captain was Codey Massam, player of the match was Ryan Manning on his debut. Jake Abel received coaches choice and Ryan Halsall was awarded parents choice.
Liam Coughlin, Logan king, Nathan Flynn, Jack Thompson Smith, Codey Massam, Ryan Halsall, Ryan Manning and Jake Abel all played well in both attack and defence, listened to their coaches and were a lot better at the play of the ball which they had worked on in training.
In conclusion this was a good team performance and all players deserved equal praise.
