Today's game against Haydock was a very open match and a day for fans who like attacking rugby.
Pilks were out scored 4 tries to 2 in the first third, a deficit they could not over come as they stayed with Haydock for the last two thirds with neither side able to stop the other from scoring. Both sides scoring 3 tries in the second third and four tries a piece in the last third.
Over the past few weeks Pilks have come on leaps and bounds in attack but unfortunately have slipped a bit in defence and this is the first week that I can think of that Pilks never stopped a single set of six. Having said that there was great individual tackles and the coaches had to give out two tackler of the match awards.
Callum Taylor captained Pilks against his old side and played well scoring a try and was awarded a tackler of the match award.
Player of the match was Tyrese Daley for an outstanding game and come up with some bone crunching tackles.
Parents choice was Zak Mulcahy with a hat trick of tries to add to his already impressive tally.
Liam Coughlin was awarded coaches choice with another impressive attacking display
Ryan Halsall was also awarded tackler of the match for some good one on one tackles.
Codey Massam scored his first hat trick for the club with a good attacking display.
Logan King a player with a great natural body swerve ran well and chipped in with 2 tries.
With some good running from Kyle Dancer and Harry Thompson and also a brave display from Joseph Hunter who got up and played on after a big hit made this game a very enjoyable one and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves from players to spectators to coaches,a good day all round.
Well done keep it up.
