Pilks U7's went to Waterhead on a cold wet Sunday morning and played a good strong Waterhead side, on a pitch that was heavy under foot.
This weeks performance was a big improvement on last weeks game and Pilks played well with some good tackling, but unfortunately Waterhead was a bit too strong on the day and defensively moved up well together not leaving Pilks with any room to run. Having said that Pilks did run well with some strong runs from all players and some good passes as well. Pilks conseeded 3 tries in the first third, four tryies in the second and three tries in the final third.
Honorary Captain Nathan Flynn lead by example with some really good running.
Player of the match was Logan King who never stopped, running well but also put in a lot of tackles.
It was nice to see a new name on the tackler of the match certificate Jake Abel proved you don't have to be a big player to make a big hit.
Callum Taylor was awarded parents choice certificate with another strong performance and was again high up in the tackle count.
Coaches choice went to Codey Massam for his strong running, a player who is improving week by week.
With good performances from Kyle Dancer, Zak Mulcahy, Ryan Manning, Dezi Wilkinson and Ryan Halsall, it was a good team effort in very difficult conditions.
Well done keep it up
