On a cold Sunday morning Pilkington Recs U7s were away to Westbank Bears and Pilks turn up in a completely different mood than they did last week. Today they proved the performance against Golborne two week's ago wasn't just a flash in the pan and that last week was just an off week.
In the true spirit of the game Westbank lent us a player and with some great rugby played by both sides the first third finished 3 - 2 to Westbank, with all credit to Westbank the player they lent us scored one of our tries.
The second third saw both teams scoring one a piece and in the last third finished with Westbank out scoring Pilks 1 - 0.
This was a great game of rugby and really enjoyable for everyone involved, with both teams defending really well and some good passing rugby from both sides.
Honorary Captain Nathan Flynn had another impressive game, taking the ball up really well and getting stuck in with his tackling.
Player of the match was Connor Stubbs, a player who has only played a handful of matches but is getting better with each match played.
Harry Thompson stepped up is game in defence, which earned him tackler of the match.
Ryan Halsall was awarded parents choice with a good performance tackling hard and some strong running.
Callum Taylor a player who plays consistently well, had another impressive game today scoring 2 tries, tackling his heart out and running strong.
Ben Lynch a player gaining each week in confidence, took every run given to him.
Tyler Robinson and Dezi Wilkinson also putting in good performances, this was a really good team performance.
Well done keep it up
