Mothers day and Pilks U7's they served up the best gift they could have given their proud mums.
Its was a great day for rugby, the weather was just right and the ground was nice and soft. Pilks faced a new Atherton side and it showed with Pilks going 4 nil up in the first third and showed some great defence. With all credit to Atherton they didn't let their heads drop and came back at Pilks and even scored a couple of tries themselves in the second third which finished 4 - 2 to Pilks.
The last third Atherton just kept playing and gained some confidence scoring another 2 tries, but were slightly out scored by Pilks at a score of 3 tries to 2.
It was a great day of rugby, played with the right attitude by both teams but Pilks experience and strength showed through.
Honorary captain Dezi Wilkinson straightened up his running this week and gained some good yards this performance earned him parents choice award.
Player of the match was Ben Lynch who scored his first try for the club, well done mate.
Tyler Robinson was awarded tackler of the match because he really upped his game defensively today.
Nathan Flynn had yet another great game, he really got stuck in defensively and scored two tries as well.
Callum Taylor and Ryan Halsall had almost identical games, both scoring four tries a piece and both putting in great tackle counts.
Connor Stubbs ran the ball well, but also did a lot of tackling especially in the last third.
Last but not least Harry Thompson backed up his good training session were he was awarded trainer of the week with a good performance today.
Well done keep it up, you all should be proud of yourselves because we are.
