Sunday was another great day for rugby the sun was shining and Pilks were debuting another two players, just showing how fast the team is growing.
Pilks faced a good Mayfield side and stared the game well, tackling well and unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions and the first third finished two tries to nil in Mayfields favour.
The second third was much better and Pilks kept Mayfield scoreless and the second third finished one nil in Pilks favour.
In the last third unfortunately Mayfield stepped up a gear and went to the heart of Pilks defence. Pilks were caught lacking in the middle and time and time again Mayfield just went straight through the centre for long range tries out scoring Pilks six tries to two.
Honorary Captain and Player of the Match Ethan Cranny, a player on his on his debut showed great heart after taking a big hit that clearly hurt him, still did not want to leave the pitch even though it was his turn to be subbed.
Callum Taylor with no surprise was tackler of the match because of his uncompromising style of tackling that he brings each week.
Parents Choice Jack McIntyre was another player on his debut ran strong all game and even scored his first try for the club.
Ryan Halsall added another try to his tally this week.
Nathan Flynn had a great game this week and could have easily been a contender for player of the match and only missed out on tackler of the match by the flip of a coin.
Joseph Hunter, Harvey Cathcart, Ben Lynch, Charlie Penketh, Rhys Edwards, Connor Stubbs, Harry Thompson and Dezi Wilkinson all played well.
Well done keep it up.
