On Sunday Pilks U7's entertained Langworthy Reds at Ruskin drive.
This turned out to be quite an even contest which saw Pilks clinch victory in the last third.
In the first third both teams cancelled each other out in both attack and defence and it finished three tries each.
As the first third drew to a close, the coaches from Langworthy noticed we had subs so suggested we lent them players so our lads weren't sat around and all the children got has much game time as possible.
So in the rest period we asked for volunteer's to play for Langworthy. With a few players wanting the chance to play against their team mates the second period started, much like the first both teams cancelled each other out and the second third finished two tries a piece.
The loan players did Pilks proud and Jack even had the audacity to score a great full length try against his own club ;-)
The loan players were quite obviously enjoying playing against their mates because when they were asked do they want to come back to us, they chose to stay with Langworthy (hope this doesn't mean I have to get some transfer forms out lol)
As usual Pilks saved their best to last and really got in the faces of Langworthy, limiting them to two tries and scoring four themselves.
A special thanks to all the players that played for Langworthy and to the Langworthy coaches who just wanted to give the kids a game of rugby.
Harry Thompson was honorary captain and did some great runs even though he was in some discomfort with his feet.
Connor Stubbs was player of the match after scoring his first try for the club, first of many I hope.
Harvey Cathcart was awarded tackler of the match because he really upped his game in defence this week and was first man in on more than on occasion.
Parents choice Nathan (hot stepper) Flynn was great this week in both attack and defence getting through a tonne of tackles and scoring three ties.
The ever present Callum Taylor added a couple of tries to his tally this week and as usual was up there in the tackle count.
Ryan Halsall played well again this week scoring three tries and doing some good work in defence.
Both Jack McIntyre and Tyler Robinson did Pilks proud this week in opposition colours and like I have mentioned earlier Jack had the cheek to score against us lol
Joseph Hunter, Charlie Penketh, Ethan Cranny, Rhys Edwards and Dezi Wilkinson all playing well, all in all it was a good win and a good team performance well done keep it up.
