Another nice Sunday morning and another typical Pilks performance.
It is beginning to feel like I could write one match report for the year and just copy and paste it week by week.
Again Pilks played well and again Pilks started slow, growing into the game and by the last third were virtually matching the opposition try for try.
The first third started and both teams played some impressive passing rugby but yet again Pilks found themselves making the yards getting right on the oppositions try line with tackles to spare but could not convert into points because they continued to get trapped in the corner and not managing to get out. The first third finished 3 Tries to 1 in St Judes favour.
The second third was a mirror of the first and the score was exactly the same 3 tries to 1 in St judes favour.
The last third and has per norm pilks stepped up there game and scored some great tries and the last third finished 5 tries to 4 in st judes favour.
At the end of the last third unfortunately tempers started to flare and this took a little bit of the shine off the day, but quick action by coaches stopped this before it escalated and all said and done it was an enjoyable game of rugby and Sundays performance leaves me confident that even when we loan players out the lads who pull on a Pilks shirt for the under 7's are good enough and will always do us proud.
Honorary Captain was George Donoghue a player who has really impressed me because he takes the ball in, takes his tackles and just gets up no matter how hard he gets hit and never complains he just gets on with it.
Rohan Heyes was impressive on Sunday scoring 3 tries and really getting stuck in with his tackling.
Luke Brighouse was tackler of the match, considering he is only playing his second game for the club got through an impressive 19 tackles.
Rhys Edwards was Parents choice with some great one on one tackling and adding another try to his tally.
Jack McIntyre scored another 2 tries this week with some great attacking play.
And with good games by Joseph Hunter, Harvey Cathcart, Ethan Cranny, Billy Traynor, Mackenzie Smith, Dezi Wilkinson,
Harry Thompson and Josh hunt.
Well done boys keep it up
