Pilks U7's was away to a good Blackbrook Royals team and they did us proud.
As we all know Pilks is a mixed team of second and third year children, so when they come across a big side made up of all third year children it was always going to be hard, but this did not worry Pilks and they went out and give it their all and in my opinion scored the best try of the match with some great backing up and passing.
What I was happiest with was the attitude of our players who walked off the pitch smiling and even though they had been beat, they all looked like they had had fun and really enjoyed the game.
The first third Pilks didn't really get to grips with brook but still proved they will always score tries and the first third finished 5 -1 to brook.
The second third Pilks improved and made a stop at the end of the third that seemed to rattle brook a bit and the second third finished 3- 1 to brook.
In the last third although Pilks could not really capitalise on the great defensive set, at the end of the second third they did start playing like I know Pilks can play by off loading and passing the ball about and played some great rugby and like I said scored the try of the game. The last third finished 3 - 1 to brook.
Honorary captain Billy Traynor ran well against much bigger opposition.
Player of the match Luke Brighouse tackled well and ran really well resulting in him scoring his first try for the well done mate.
Ryan Halsall was tackler of the match, at one stage he made four tackles one after the other and also ran strong as well.
Nathan Flynn was parents choice, when Nathan takes to the field you know what your going to get, fancy foot work that makes him always dangerous to the opposition and hard work in defence.
Rohan Heyes and Rhys Edwards both added to there scoring tally this week, also both players tackled well proving what great asset's they are to the team.
Joseph Hunter maybe one of our smaller players but he is running really well lately and always the first off his line in defence.
With good games from Harvey Cathcart, Billy Traynor, Mackenzie Smith ,Jack McIntyre, Dezi Wilkinson, George Donoghue and Josh Hunt keeps proving to me we are moving in the right direction.
Well done keep it up
