Pilks went down 6-3 on a cold , wet and very muddy Sunday morning !
It was a very heavy down pour which seen Pilks start slow , going down 3-1 in the first quarter
In the second quarter it was 2-1 then in the 3rd quarter we seen Pilks defence step up and not conceding a try , which I have to say was outstanding in the conditions we was in ! The 4th quarter we seen a try go to either side !
Making there debut today was Tyler Robinson and Dylan Greenall!
Tyler Robinson , played well today , taking the ball forward , didn't look back and kept pushing for that try line , making some good tackles also , well done Tyler !
Dylan Greenall , This lad has been asking every week when can I play , Today was the day , He took his first run for Pilks , He took the ball forwards and was very hard to take down in tackles , he was unlucky not to break , with his speed it wud of been a sure try , Dylan never took a backward step and didn't shy away from tackles neither , Well done Dylan !
Our two joint captains today was George Edmondson , who starts off nervous and unsure , but seems to settle once he's had his first run , so today we gave him the first run , George took this perfectly , we seen his confidence grow as 3rd quarter George broke the line but forgot to put the ball down , was very unlucky not to be given that try , Well done George !
Our other captain was Zak Atherton , Zak is only a little lad and also lacks confidence and belief in his self , Zak took the second run today , he went straight pushing forward with the ball , he was in tackles as much as he could , for a little lad he isn't half making his self known week after week , well done Zak your improving week by week !
Player of the match went to Lewis Taylor , Lewis came on 2nd quarter , Lewis was running onto the ball at pace , we seen him go through 3 players , handed the 4th player off , and was very unlucky to just get caught on the shoulder and not score a full length try , Lewis' one on one tackles in open field on bigger players are improving week by week and was awesome in defence today ! Well done Lewis !
Parents choice went to Josh Hunt , Josh stood out with his strong forward runs , Josh was also high up on the tackle count this week , n this didn't go unnoticed by the coaches , an also the parents , gaining him parents choice award , well done Josh !
Coaches choice went to Jacob Davies , Jacob was outstanding today for his tackling in defence , what stood out was his run , which we seen Jacob go past two players , cut to the wing , ran for his life and went in for his first try for Pilks , well done Jacob !
Tackler of the match went to James Hatton aka Tommy makinson , James stood out today for his Goal line defence , stopping big players breaking the line and stopping that 6 score line turning into 12 , super defence today , Well done James !
Have to mention Luke brighouse , Who again was up there for an award this week , narrowly missing out , he was high up on the tackle count , also adding 2 tries to his tally , I could say you did well to gain 2 tries in the conditions we was playing in , but week after week good or bad conditions you play your heart out and you give me 100% , again brill performance from you , well done Luke you never let us down !
I want to mention James Hatton and Lewis Taylor , who I seen partner up this week off there own back and put in some cracking defence , what a great little duo u made !
Also played there part today in keeping Pilks defence and attack strong was , Rhys Crehan , Ethan Cowin , Ethan Cranny, Max Fear, Isaac Heyes , Noah Heaton , Aaron King , Josh Larkin, Joseph Morris ,Bryn Edwards and Billy Traynor , you was all outstanding as a team this week and I wish I had trophies to give u all one , each and everyone of u deserved it this week , you was all little super stars , even tho we have certain awards for certain stand out performances , this takes nothing away from all of you , you all make it a team ,you all make it the team I'm proud to say I coach! Can't praise you all enough this week , well done lads !!!
Once again thanks to Ste Crehan for taking the pictures in this bad weather today , his help and support to the club is much appreciated
