Pilks went down 8/4 to a very well coached year 2s .
Before kick off we had a minutes silence for a young boy who also played rugby ,
who sadly passed away this week , thoughts are with all his family and friends!

1st quarter we seen Pilks go down 3-1 with some very good attacking by Orrell.
2nd quarter we seen Pilks and Orrell 1 try a piece with very good attack from both sides .
3rd quarter we seen Pilks come alive , out scoring Orrell 2-1 what was so good about Pilks ,
Was the way they ran onto the ball to score a try.
What was more impressive was the way they defended the start of the 3rd quarter,
Orrell ran in the ball from the half way line , Pilks defence came solid and we seen Pilks push Orrell back for there full 6 tackles and we seen Orrell end up back on there own try line . Pilks then got the ball and scored a try from this !
4th quarter we seen Pilks lose there way a bit and went down 3-0 but never gave up trying.

Making there debut today was Leighton glover , who I have to say had an outstanding game today! It was this lads first match and boy did he make his self known !

Our 2 captains this week was Ethan cowin and Ethan Cranny . Both these 2 players are our little smilers , they both always have a smile on the face , no matter what they are doing , tackling , running with the ball , they play with a smile on there face , they make everyone just smile when you see them , both captained the side really well today , running well and making some good tackles , well done lads !

Man of the match went to Dylan Greenall , Dylan scored his first try this week for Pilks , the way he scored his try is what earned Dylan man of the match , he was on orrells 30 meter line , he ran onto the ball , breaking orrells defence , cut to the Wing , just when no one thought this little lad could run any quicker , he some how picked his pace up and left Orrells defence in shock , Dylan ran for his life straight down the wing to score in the corner , There was no way anyone was stopping him ! He also put in some good defence today , making some good tackles , well done Dylan on your first try !

Top tackler , went to no other than Leighton glover , who also gained his self a landslide in votes for parents choice award !
Leighton was outstanding in defence and attack , he was aggressive in his tackling , he ran the ball hard and always making good meters for the team , Leighton made it into double figures on his tackle count today , which I'm not surprised , he was in every tackle , he put his heart and soul into his performance today , this little lad has been more excited for playing his first match than he was about anything he was getting for his birthday , well you certainly made sure we all knew you was on the field today , super , super performance , for your first match , you was outstanding , well done Leighton !

Coaches choice award went to Lewis Taylor, Lewis scored 2 tries today , his first try he was on orrells 20 meter line , he ran onto the ball at pace , taking 3 Orrell players over the line with him , his second try was really familiar to his first try , Lewis loved taking players over the line with him today , no one was stopping him getting them tries , Lewis also was high up on the tackle count today putting in some big tackles on the wing and open play , awesome performance today ,always gives me his best , week in week out well done Lewis !

I would like to mention a couple more people , first person was James Hatton , James again put in a brilliant performance today , taking some massive hits off a lot bigger lads , never complained once and just got back up and carried on , if I had a bravery award this child would of gained this , this week , he took some massive hits today and also put in some big hits , James was asked did he want to leave the pitch and I got a very firm NO! You played amazing today James , well done Tommy !!

Josh hunt also added another try to his tally today with very strong running taking 5 Orrell players over the line with him , come what may josh was having that try today , josh played awesome in attack today , putting in some good tackles , well done josh !

Last but not least Roman Smith , felt really sorry for this lad today , who ran from the half way line , knocking players away he dove at the line , only to find out he dove at the wrong line as there was a red cone there , would of been an awesome try if it was the right line , well done Roman you will get it next time lad !

Also playing this week was Zak Atherton , Jacob Davies , Noah Heaton , Rhys Crehan , George Edmondson , Joseph Morris , Isaac Heyes, Josh Larkin and Billy Traynor , all played amazing again this week , I'm going to echo what I said last week , even tho we have awards for stand out performances , you all make it a team , without you all we wouldn't have the team we have , each and everyone of you play your part in making the under 7s , you are all mine and Darren's little super stars , you are all listening to us in training and bringing it to the field every week , you are getting better as individuals and as a team , proud of you all again today , can't wait to see you all play again next week , you are all getting better week after week , outstanding performance today lads , keep it up !!!!
