Pilks went away this week with Widnes moorfield !
Was a really nice sunny day and turned into the best day for the under 7s !
Pilks came out on top winning 8-5 . I did say I was really excited to see under 7s play there own age.
Well this was the week and this was there week to shine !
What a performance it was in attack and defence.
What me and Darren asked the lads to do in training they took to the match this week !
They keep playing like they did today and we will have a lot more wins under our belt !

The defence was outstanding , they was all in one straight line all match.
We was moving up quickly , talking to each other throughout.
Making it harder for Widnes to break our defence !
It's a good job I was stood behind the lads , I think they would have tackled me too!

Captains today was Bryn Edwards, Bryn lead from the front with his tackling again.
He was very unlucky not to score, he put his foot in touch and try was chalked off !
This lad always gives me 100% , well done Bryn !

Our other captain was Billy Traynor, Billy ran onto the ball in midfield , stepped one player,
Then he was gone like a rabbit and scored his first try for Pilks today , no one was catching Him.
Outstanding performance billy !

Coaches choice went to Ethan Cranny , This little lad always has a smile on his face.
Me and Darren chose Ethan today , he ran straight with the ball and had 2 outstanding off loads in the tackle,
Which lead too Pilks scoring 2 try's , always looking to get the ball out when ever he can , which not many kids do at this age.
Ethan does this with such ease and style , super performance from Ethan today , well done !

Tackler of the match went to Josh Hunt , I wanted josh to cover the wing on his play , For a big lad he can certainly move, he covered both wings !!! Josh added 2 try's to his tally today , one was an offload from Ethan Cranny near the line , took two players over with him to score. The second was something special, from the play of the ball, ran onto the ball and smashed his way through the defence of Widnes and went full length of the pitch , glad I wasn't stood infront to tackle him !!! Amazing performance Josh !

Parents choice and man of the match went to Jacob Davies , he ran strong all day , taking 2 players to tackle him every time .
Jacob was taking some big hits , but was certainly giving some !
Jacob took the ball on his run , looked where it was opening up and just took the ball and went into the corner , adding another try to his tally ! Perfect performance Jacob well done !

Bravery award went to no other than Ethan Cowin , this little lad didn't half make me laugh today , he must of had a loose tooth , ran the ball in hard and out popped his tooth,Ethan was asked did he want to go off , his reply “No ! Can we look for my tooth ” couldn't stop laughing , even tho he couldn't find his tooth , he carried on playing and put in some good attack and defence , well done Ethan!

Me and Darren was saying how each and everyone of you deserved man of the match this week , you all played as a team and you all played outstanding , you all should be proud of yourselfs , We are proud of each and everyone of you , I knew you could all come together and be outstanding in defence , today you showed everyone else what I already knew ! Loved all the smiles on all the kids faces today playing rugby , just when I thought your smiles couldn't get any bigger , they did at the end of the match , was lovely too see you all happy and proud of yourselfs!
Just a little mention of all those that played today !

Isaac Heyes and Josh Larkin , both of you are starting to get more involved in tackles and running onto the ball , both improving week by week , well done lads !

Zak Atherton , This little lad lacks so much confidence , I really don't know why , when he gets that confidence , He knows he can put in some good tackles , I spoke to Zak In training this week , I asked him to run onto the ball , Tackle when ever he could , he did everything I asked of him , his confidence is growing each week , his best performance isn't far off coming , come on Zak I know you can do it , well done !

Dylan Greenall & Alex Calderbank , Both played really well again today , Alex is a quiet lad but puts in some good defence and gets the job done ! Dylan has a lot of speed when he can break , he just needs to keep away from that touch line and improve on his own defence , which we will work on in training , but again both good performances , well done lads !

Max Fear & Noah Heaton , both put in a great performance again today , there defence was spot on, they was running the ball forward with ease , well done lads !

Leighton Glover , Leighton again this week was amazing , this little boy has only played a couple of matches, but he's certainly up there with his tackle count , he added another 2 try's to his tally this week , Leighton always plays his heart out , he was unlucky to miss out on an award this week ! Any coach would love to have this little lad ! Well done keep it up Leighton !

George Edmundson , took some big hits and got hurt this week , this time though he wanted to stay on the pitch , this payed off , running through the middle to score his first try for Pilks in the corner , that try has been a long time coming , well done George your growing each week !

Rhys Crehan , with an offload from Ethan Cranny , doing some nice foot work and stepping two players ,
Rhys went in for his first try in the corner for Pilks this week , well done Rhys , all your hard work is paying off and your a player that people will need to keep there eye out for ! Keep it up !

Roman Smith and Luke Brighouse , Roman is improving every week , he's getting close to that try line.within the next few weeks I'm confident we will see his first try for Pilks , Luke had a bit of a disagreement with the referee (Darren) which did make me laugh , Luke ran down the wing and went in for a try , but the referee called “in touch” all I heard Luke say was “ what was wrong with it ” as his arms was up in the air , very unlucky Luke , well done lads !

Lewis Taylor and James Hatton , both lads tackled there hearts out again this week, putting in some good runs.
Both lads talk to each other throughout the game and put in some cracking defence on that wing , It is a partnership that only started a few weeks ago off there own backs , but is flourishing into something special , well done lads !

Aaron King , last but not least , Aaron had players all over him on his run , this didn't stop Aaron he made it hard work for Widnes , he tackled his heart out this week , was unlucky not to walk away with an award , awesome performance , well done Aaron !
