Pilks went down 12-7 to Hfh Reds.
Pilks went in the game on a high with a win against Newton storm two weeks ago.
The match started with pilks holding out Hfh for two sets. The third set we seen Hfh go the full length of the pitch too score the first try.
At the end of the first quarter pilks was trailing 4-1.
Second quarter 6-2.
The third quarter was hard fought pilks running in 3 tries matching Hfh 3 tries.
Last quarter we seen pilks run in 2 more tries to Hfh 3 tries.
The score was not a true reflection of the game up against another year 2 side.
This is not an excuse as all our lads gave 110% but with a lot on the field being year 1s and playing their first season . Coming up against year 2s week in week out , they never complain and they take some big hits off a lot more experienced players . They all should be very proud of them selfs and they have the year 2s who all help them out with their experience !
This week the lads was trying to off load the ball , working in pairs, running in strong and putting some cracking defence up there. This is all what we ask of the lads in training and they bring it every time , this is why me and Darren love the team so much , with their never die attitude !

Captains today was Isaac Heyes. I think we need to make Isaac captain every week . Totally different child who played . He took on the role of captain . He started running onto the ball not going back wards . Kept running when Hfh was tackling him , taking three players to take him down . Isaac has a lot of strength but is very cautious when he runs in with the ball and normally stops running soon as a player gets hold of him . This week he was running with players holding him which was nice to see him using some of that strength he has . Well done Isaac your best game so far !

Captain today was Max Fear. What a game for Max this week. His tackling was outstanding ! Also scoring a try this week , I have to say was stunning ! Max ran down the short side , stepped two Hfh players , then handing the third player off to go in at the corner ! I'm going to add your tackler award further down as you deserve recognition for that on its own ! Well done max on being captain !

Man of the match award went to no other than Luke brighouse. What can I say about this lad who always gives us 100% . Luke running in five tries for pilks this week. One try in particular that sticks in my mind was his first try. Took the ball on his own 20 meter line and went full length of the pitch , with an Hfh player bouncing off him. Luke placed the ball down over the line , looked around and there was three Hfh players on the floor ! His tackling was perfect this week also ! All I can say is mind blowing staying down with under 7s and not moving up was 100% the best decision for this lad ! Luke was also up for parents choice this week only just missing out ! Well done Luke!

Tackler of the match went to no other than Max Fear. Max's tackling this week was outstanding . He was putting in some big hits , not missing any of his tackles ! Max had an outstanding game this week and gave me 100% . Couldn't of asked anything more of you . Well done max !

Parents choice was the closest we have ever had so far this season with just one vote over going to Dylan Greenall. Dylan had an extremely good game this week . His tackling is improving and he is getting a lot more stuck in to one on one tackles ! Dylan added another try to his tally this week by a cracking off load from Lewis Taylor who then set Dylan up to cut down the wing and go in for a nice try in the corner . Well done Dylan by far your best performance in the last few weeks !

Coaches choice was a no brainer this week going to no other than our little Zak Atherton ! Zak was on fire this week ! Before the match I asked Zak to play in the middle . What a job he did for me ! His tackling was bang on this week . Zak didn't wait for Hfh Reds to come to him , he went into the middle and making some cracking tackles ! What impressed the most today was Zak's first run, he ran onto the ball with venom . What impresses me over all about Zak is , how far his confidence and belief in his self has come in such a short space of time and the fact he always listens to what I tell him , his willingness to listen and to learn is improving him as a player week in week out ! Well done Zak this was your best performance to date keep it up lad !

Bravery award went to Jacob Davies , this is not an award we give out every week . Me and Darren thought Jacob fully deserved this award ! Jacob ran onto the ball heading to the far corner was caught from behind spun to the ground and landed on his shoulder . Had tears in my eyes for this little lad when I seen it happen ! He must of been hurt to go off the pitch ! But Jacob style five minutes later he was back on the pitch like nothing had happened ! This lad amazes me every week ! Well done Jacob you fully deserved this award to take the hit you did and then come back on , not wanting to let your team down was outstanding ! Proud of you !

I have to mention this week , Jacob Davies , Leighton glover and Lewis Taylor. Jacob was amazing as always ! Leighton never lets his team down and always give me 100% . Lewis was outstanding in defence , again picking up compliments from parents on just how outstanding his defence was ! But what impressed us the most and some of the parents who also made a comment on how Outstanding this off load was , it was Lewis' run of the ball , with a quick play of the ball from Jacob to Leighton , Leighton then passed the ball to Lewis to take his run . We seen Lewis run hard with the ball drawing the Hfh players in then just as they was about to make the tackle Lewis off loaded the ball to Dylan , which was a perfect timed , perfect pass and well took ball which set Dylan up for a try in the corner . That was outstanding to play as a team from start to finish and gain your team a try ! Was stunning to watch and was something Lewis did off his own back , he could of been selfish with the ball and played one man rugby, he didn't and thought of his team and made the off load at the perfect time , awesome Lewis very proud of you ! All involved was outstanding

Felt sorry for George Edmundson and Lewis Taylor this week also , George running down the wing and in the corner to score a try only to be pulled back for stepping into touch . Lewis also ran onto the ball did a nice little side step and dove for the line but the ref called held up . Very unlucky lads , but for me they was two really nice tries !

A little mention for Rhys Crehan who always gives his team 100% putting in some good runs and making some nice tackles ! Rhys also took some big hits this week but didn't let that phase him .Quiet lad but makes his mark on the pitch ! Well done Rhys

Also playing there part for pilks this week was . Josh Larkin , Bryn Edwards ,Ethan cranny & Noah Heaton , Who all played well again this week and put in some nice defence for pilks !
