Pilks went away this week to Ashton Bears.
We ran 2 games, year 1s with me and year 2s with Alan.

Year 1 match report.

Started out a cold, wet and foggy morning but the sun soon started to shine, it wasn't just the weather warming up or shinning this week. Pilks for the first time all season started as they meant to go on ! From the first play of the ball we was outstanding! Tries was ran in from every direction and the defence was absolutely outstanding. I have to say just how much this game was a team effort, everyone gave it their all. The score line is exactly how the game was, winning 15/3 the kids, me and the parents was absolutely over whelmed at how much these kids played for each other this week. We have to give credit to Ashton Bears who gave us everything they had and never once gave us an easy ride. Coaches and parents was superb this week. Well done lads both teams are a credit to us coaches.

Our captain today was Leighton glover, this lad knows exactly how to play rugby and is very passionate about his game. As always he was superb in defence and put in some awesome attack. Gaining his self a full length try for pilks. Took a kick in the face but didn't let his team down and carried on. You had an awesome game as always mate very proud of you.

Man of the match today was, Dylan finney. Dylan was making his debut today for pilks and he certainly made a name for his self on the pitch, he put in some awesome attack and ran his self in 3 tries for pilks this week. He also put in some cracking defence and never once took a backward step. You had an absolute stormer of a game mate and I'm very proud of you !

Second man of the match was no other than our little fiery Rhys Crehan. Rhys gives 100% every week I can never really fault this little lad to be honest. Rhys has had this award coming for the last couple of weeks. He scored 2 tries for pilks today. His first we seen some cracking foot work taking him over the line. His second he made a break from his own line, making some superb hand offs and in for a full length try ! His defence as always was faultless, well done little lad u had a stormer and I'm very proud of you !

Top tackler went to Lewis Taylor, Lewis I have to say just tipped the tackle count this week. Having missed only one of his tackles all match was just awesome! He was making some superb one on one tackles on the wing. Scoring a try for pilks this week also, he had again another stormer of a game especially in defence. We said before the game only way to stop a big lad is by the legs and you did this every time .Took a kick in the chest on one tackle then took a couple of bangs to his arm, never once complained just got back up and carried on. well done little lad I'm very proud of you !

I have to say I could of give every single child an award this week, they was all outstanding in attack and defence. This is the best game we have played where every single child gave 100% and they all worked as a full team.

Jacob Davies, scored a try for pilks this week and as always was outstanding in defence, his attack was bang on and he gave me and his team his all. Jacob showed today just what it is to be a team when he handed his run of the ball over to bryn so he got a chance to score was just mind blowing. Just shows how lovely this little lad is and how he plays for his team. You made me extra proud of you today mate. Well done

Aidan gibbons, this little gave his all in attack and defence and is certainly perfecting these hands off. Made a few breaks just couldn't quite get that try line. Well done little lad very proud of you ,u had a cracking game.

Josh Larkin, Josh was absolutely amazing today. He did some awesome runs with the ball and didn't stop pushing. He scored a cracking try for pilks, which easily could of been more with the amount he broke the Ashton defence. His defence was spot on today, making one on one tackles and helping his team when they needed it. Awesome game little lad very proud of you.

Zak Atherton, this little has his ups and downs with his confidence. Today his confidence was up as he was involved in tackles and put in some cracking defence. His attack was strong and he strolled in for a cracking try, taking half the Ashton team over with him. A try your mum has been waiting all season to watch, could hear her shouting in St Helens ha ! Well done little lad very proud of you !

Josh crilly, this little lad played his socks off today, he put in some awesome strong runs and he equally back this up with his super defence. As always you was faultless in defence and attack, Well done little lad very proud of you.

Zack Kilgannon, this little lad was superb in defence and attack this week, he put in some super defence holding Ashton out. Scoring a cracking try for pilks with his strong running down the wing. Well done little lad very proud of you.

Isaac Heyes. This little lads go forward with the ball is improving week by week, was just awesome today. He ran strong with ball , I thought he was going to stop but he didn't and went in for a cracking try down the wing. His defence is getting stronger as weeks go on. Well done little lad very proud of you!

James Hatton. James as always was awesome in defence on his wing. Put in some superb attack and scored his self a cracking try in the corner. Well done little lad very proud of you.

Ellis Carsley, Ellis goes on that pitch and he gives me 100% , he runs hard and strong with ball and made some superb meters for his team. Ellis went in for a try this week with pilks, taking 3 players over the line with him! His defence is coming on loads the more he plays and put in some awesome tackles this week. Well done little lad very proud of you.

Bryn Edwards. Bryn as always put in some awesome defence, his attack was superb, he took his run on his own line, broke Ashton defence and he went in for the last try of the match. Well done little lad very proud of you.

I can only repeat what I said to you all earlier. If I had 14 trophies I would of handed out 14 awards. Every single one of you worked as a team and worked with each other. You all played your part today and all give it your best. This is the best match all season that I have seen you year 1s play together. Both sets of 7 was outstanding as a team. Considering at the start of the season you came away with a draw against this team, to now come home with a 15/3 win is just stunning! None of this surprises me though as when you click and you play together you are better than watching any super league team. Can't stress enough how proud you all make me. Well done lads same against next week.

Year 2s write up.

Even though we took a 12/9 loss this week the kids played their hearts out and give me their all.
Ashton bears was just too strong for us and played a cracking game of rugby. Very well coached team.
Thanks to all Ashton coaches who was boosting our children's confidence as well as their own.

Logan parr. Logan making his debut for pilks today had an awesome first game. He ran strong with the ball and put in some cracking defence. Well done on your first match Logan, awesome !

Man of the match Aaron King. Aaron had a awesome game. He was absolutely outstanding in attack and scored his self a massive 5 tries for pilks this week. He was equally as good in defence and was all over the pitch putting his body on the line. Amazing game Aaron well done !

Man of the match Ethan Cranny. Ethan gained this award as he was getting his self involved in every tackle, he was strong running with the ball and has a cracking side step on him. Well done Ethan awesome game!

Josh Hunt. Josh was awesome in defence and put in some big hits. He also went in for a cracking try for pilks today. He ran strong on every carry. Well done Josh superb game!

Dylan Greenall, Dylan was superb in attack and made some cracking meters for his team. Going over not once but twice for pilks this week was awesome. Dylan's tackling is improving week by week. You had a cracking game well done Dylan!

Harvey Cathcart. Harvey ran strong with ball and went in for his first try for pilks this week, what a cracking try it was. He was awesome in defence and was getting involved in every tackle. Well done Harvey superb game!

Billy Traynor. Billy has a cracking side step on him and uses it to his advantage. He ran strong with the ball and put it some cracking defence. Well done billy awesome game!

Alex calderbank. Alex was getting involved in tackles and was running strong with the ball. Well done Alex superb game!

This was my first time of taking year 2s on the pitch and I loved every minute. They are a cracking bunch of lads and was a pleasure to coach. Well done lads!
