Pilks welcomed Rylands this week, was a perfect day for a rugby match!

Pilks took a 7/2 loss, I will say some decisions this week I thought was harsh, especially kids ”just” losing control over the line and not being given was very harsh! Tries I would of given not just for my own team but any team for the effort the kids put into getting over that line!

The kids this week wasn't the kids we seen play last week. We just wasn't getting that ball played correctly at dummy half, we wasn't running onto the ball, it was all really slow from pilks which is not how we normally play! We wasn't backing each other up in tackles. Not one off load was made add all this up and this is why we came away with a loss. Rylands was moving up quick and as a team and was shutting us down from the word go this is something we normally do but lacked this week so that's why we have the score line we did!

Our captains today was Josh Larkin, Josh didn't come into this game as confident as last and it showed in how he played. He had a spell at dummy half but loves to spin that ball! ( going to make me more grey!) josh did make a couple of good runs and tried his best to lead his team! Well done Josh!

Our other captain was Ellis Carsley, Ellis put in some great tackles this week. His hand offs are awesome! Ellis is growing in confidence the more matches he's playing! Ellis has come back this season with a lot more strength in his defence and attack! Well done Ellis!

Man of the match went to Jacob Davies, Jacob had an awesome game and could of had any of the trophies this week as he was just perfect in every aspect! Jacob made some cracking try saving tackles! His reading of the game is brilliant!
On the side lines Jacob was being spoke about on just how good he is and at the end of the game Rylands coach came to me and asked if they could pick no13 as man of the match as they thought he was fantastic! Jacob took a couple of bangs this week but when asked did he want to come off I got a clear NO! Ha! Jacob scored a cracking try this week and also had a harsh call from the ref and got his second denied! To quote a parent on the side lines ” he is just something else ” well done little Man!

Top tackler went to Joseph Morris, Joseph put in some cracking one on one tackles which saved Rylands walking in a few more tries! Was very unlucky not to be given a try as it was called in touch, ever so slightly! For me it was a try and you had an awesome game well done Joseph!

Parents choice went to Dan Keogh, Dan was brilliant this week, he made a few breaks but just got caught short of the line! Dans defence was awesome and he made some brilliant one on one tackles! He took a bang this week but he got back up and just carried on! Well done little lad awesome game!

Zack Kilgannon, this was Zacks first match for us this week as last week he came but then decided he didn't want to play. Zack struggles with his confidence but when given the ball he's a little natural on the pitch! So we had a good talk and he came this week and did us all proud! He came on the pitch, took his run made a break straight down the wing and scored a cracking try! Zack after this was full of confidence, he made a couple more breaks but just couldn't make it to the line! Well done Zack awesome game!

Josh crilly, Josh is only a little lad but he's certainly not afraid of having a good go! Josh is having an awesome start to the season and is growing in confidence every week! He's off like a little whippet and was unlucky not to score! For a little lad he makes some cracking one on one tackles! Brilliant game Josh well done !

Rhys Crehan, Rhys again this week did some awesome runs! Rhys took his run stepped a couple of players and went over the try line only to be pulled back again saying he lost control! Ridiculous if I'm honest! Don't let it knock your confidence lad we all know that was a try! Rhys is always there in defence when his team needs him no matter were it is on the pitch, for a little lad he doesn't half put his body on the line! Well done Rhys brilliant game!

Dylan Greenall, Dylan struggled today in defence compared to how awesome he was last week ! Dylan loves using his speed but this week Rylands just wasn't allowing this to happen! You tried and next week is a new week well done Dylan!

Zak Atherton, Zak I think had an awesome game this week in defence, Zak went on with the first team and he was first in and completed 5/6 tackles on the bounce! you made some awesome try saving tackles! Today was your best defence I have seen from you and this is all I ever ask!
Well done Zak fantastic game!

Isaac Heyes, Isaac struggled catching the ball this week so we will be working on this in training, Isaac did try his best when running with the ball and made some good yards for his team! Well done Isaac!

Lewis Taylor, Lewis took his run side stepped Rylands and went over the line but again this week got the try denied saying he lost control over the line! Again I would of given and think the decision was very harsh! Lewis made a cracking try saving tackle having to come running from one side of the pitch to the other and taking the player into touch then to have parents from the opposition shouting to him that it was high and he should be taken off was ridiculous and I think knocked lewis' confidence so he came off and didn't play much of the game! What he did play was brilliant in defence! Well done Lewis!

Ethan bold, Ethan had a cracking game today in defence! Ethan made some brilliant one on one tackles! He's confident when running with the ball and always runs strong, well done Ethan brilliant game!

Logan parr, Logan had a really good game in defence today and ran strong and confident with the ball! Just a bit of messing on the side line which hopefully will be fine for next week! Well done Logan fab game!

Leighton glover, Leighton was awesome in defence and was unlucky not to gain an award this week! Leighton made some fantastic one on one tackles which stopped Rylands in their tracks! Leighton gets easily frustrated with some decisions on the field but we are working on this! Well done on your first game Leighton awesome defence!

Bryn Edwards, bryns tackling this week was awesome, he made some cracking try savers! Was unlucky not to break Rylands defence and get over that try line, well done bryn brilliant game!

Dylan finney, Dylan had a fantastic game in defence and attack! Dylan made a break and was very unlucky not to get his self over that try line! Well done Dylan brilliant game!

I think some parents and coaches need to remember that these lads are 7 years of age, shouting and pointing abuse at them is absolutely ridiculous. These kids put their heart and soul into playing and then for someone to be this way to them is shocking! All the fun and excitement is taken out of them
And the game! We are amateur not super league and we are all there for the kids and to learn and enjoy a game of rugby!
These matches are a friendly and actions like this could make a child not want to play again!

Even tho we took a loss and didn't play how we normally do, me and Alan are proud of how your heads didn't go down and you tried your best to hold Rylands out until the full time whistle!
