Pilks went to west houghton this week and with quite a few kids missing, we went with a smaller than usual side, thinking this would be great as kids would get more game time. Kids did get a lot more game time how ever the runs didn't go to plan with 14 tries scored the ball kept getting turned over. Every 1 run we had we scored, So us getting 6 runs meant they got 36 runs so obviously there wasn't as much ball as there normally is! I was really happy how the kids played today! All the kids was mixed up so we could get as many runs as possible and every child played their socks off! We had some awesome defence, amazing runs and some cracking tries!
I say to every one I am not perfect I make mistakes and I can't always be bang on with runs but when I know a child may of missed out one week I will make them up in the next game!

Our captains today, Ethan bold. Ethan had a stormer of a game today, Ethan played a stand off position today for me and was awesome at it! His tackling was brilliant! He lead from the front and certainly took on the role of captain! I thought he had an outstanding game today! Well done Ethan!

Our other captain was Joseph Morris, Joseph equally took on the role of captain today and showed us all how it's done, he went over for an outstanding hat trick! Joseph's tackling was just awesome today he was making one on one tackles on the bounce and stopping west houghton in their tracks! This also gained Joseph top tackler award for the second week running! Well done Joseph!

Man of the match went to Rhys Crehan, Rhys had an absolute stormer of a game! Rhys always gives me 100% but today he stepped it up another notch! He was first in the tackles making some superb one on one tackles! for a little lad he has a lot of upper body strength! Rhys only got his first run 15 minutes before full time, not once did this child come and complain to me, watching him play you would never of thought it, all he was doing was defending, defending with a big smile on his face! Rhys eventually got a run made a cracking break and just got caught,Rhys also took a bang after this tackle, now when Rhys comes off you worry as he never does! Luckily he braved it through and came back on, he then got his next run, again made a cracking break from just short of his own 5 meter line made the break, shrugged off a few of west houghton, side stepped his way to the try line! You gained this award not only for being the best you have played but for your over all attitude on and off the pitch, you are a credit to your dad, mum and Kirsty! stormer of a game Rhys well done!

Parents choice went to Dan Keogh for the second week running! Dan was awesome in defence and I think this is what the parents seen also! He did gain his self two cracking tries for pilks, on one of his tries he took his run and just bulldozed his way over the line! Got his self winded but carried on for his team! Dan was making some cracking one on one tackles and has made an awesome start to the season! Well done Dan!

Coaches choice went to Ellis Carsley! Ellis gained this award as he was running onto this ball at pace which is what I've been asking them all week and he did it perfectly! We go on about Ellis' hand offs but they are just awesome! Ellis is impressing both me and Alan week after week! Well done Ellis!

Dylan finney, Dylan had a brilliant week this week, he was helping his team out in defence when they needed it and he was equally as good in attack! You was unlucky not to gain yourself a try this week! Well done Dylan!

Dylan Greenall, Dylan did only have one run up until the last ten minutes when we managed to get him a couple more, Dylan made a cracking break to go over line only to be pulled back as the tackle was complete! Eventually on the last set Dylan again made a break and went over for w cracking try which was given! Phew! Dylans defence was back this week and he was awesome, even tho he was ”being very gentle as west houghton was still learning”ha! Well done Dylan I think you had a good game too!! ( you know what I mean)

Leighton glover, again Leighton did only have one run up until the last ten minutes but we did manage to get him a couple more! Leighton went over for a cracking try! Leighton was awesome in defence again this week and was making outstanding one on one tackles! He was on for an award, just missing out! I think you had a brilliant game Leighton well done!

Lewis Taylor, Lewis having not played much of the first two games for different reasons came this week and gave us 100%, Lewis went over for hat trick this week and again was pulled back for two saying he was held and the other was caught short! For his try that was given Lewis made a cracking break from his own 5 meter line turning west houghton inside out and went over for an awesome try! His defence was awesome this week! After speaking to west houghton coach, referee and seeing the video of his try the decision was made to award Lewis his first try! So this gained Lewis two tries this week! Well done brilliant game!

Josh Larkin, Josh tried his best this week and was running a lot better than last week! Josh tries to help his team when ever possible and had a brilliant game well done!

Jacob Davies, Jacob as always was awesome in Defence and attack, Jacob also went over for two cracking tries this week! What is nice to see is how this little lad runs to congratulate his team mates after they score, this lad has the perfect attitude on and off the pitch! well done Jacob brilliant game!

Logan parr, I thought Logan had a stormer of a game today! He went over for two cracking tries and he was equally as brilliant in defence! Logan is coming on loads this season we just have a couple of things we spoke about before to sort out but I'm sure he will be gaining an award very soon! Well done Logan brilliant game!

Me and Alan are proud of each and every one of you this week! we was team members down but you all pulled together and gave the performance of your life's!

You all deserved man of the match this week! Even tho we have special trophies this was for certain stand out performances but each and everyone of you stood out in your own ways and made it really difficult for us this week!

Like I have said at the start I know some kids didn't get as many runs as they would like but with the amount of tries and trying to make sure everyone at least got one made it very difficult to be 100% who had what at that as the game was in live play! We did eventually get everyone two/three runs each by full time! We got there in the end! All I will say is if parents have any problems then please feel free to come and speak to me or Alan and we will do our best to sort things out!
I have to say west houghton have a great set of coaches and parents, encouraging both sets of kids was great to see!
