Pilks welcomed langworthy Reds on a very hot sunny morning.

The coaches for langworthy was a credit to rugby league, they was encouraging our kids at every opening!

Langworthy had one girl in particular playing for them that was proving massive problems for pilks defence, she was given the ball and just ploughed her way through our defence!

Pilks put in some good defence this week, some strong attack and a lot of heart considering the heat.

Even tho the score line was 13/6 this isn't a true reflection of the strength, determination and courage, a true full team effort that langworthy put in today!

I thought both pilks and langworthy had some fantastic talent on show today!

Our captains was Isaac Heyes, Isaac has a big heart on the pitch and gives it his best shot, he stood up today and lead his team, he made a cracking off load to Dylan Greenall sending him over the line! I asked Isaac today to get the ball, run straight and hard, attacking the line and he did exactly that and did a brilliant run and gained his self a well deserved coaches choice award! Well done Isaac brilliant game!

Our other captain was Logan parr, Logan was captain this week as in training we played tug a war and he was absolutely a force to be reckoned with, encouraging and pulling his team over that line every time, so because of this I have Logan captain and he certainly stood up and was counted! He is a brilliant little tackler and his attack is equally as strong, going over for a Fantastic try in the corner. Well done Logan brilliant game!

Man of the match went to Rhys Crehan. Rhys I thought had his best game of the season, he was every where on the pitch and really did give 100%, in attack he was awesome making some cracking meters for his team, Rhys took his run and went running down the wing, I thought he had been caught and then I just seen these little legs and thought that's Rhys ha! some how he managed to break free and get over in the corner for a fantastic try. Rhys' defence is what impressed me today, he was first off the line every time, making some awesome one on one tackles, this didn't go un-noticed by langworthy who came and said their man of the match was Rhys for his fantastic ball passing skills and his awesome defence he was every where. I believe one of the coaches words was "that no 6 is killing us off" well done Rhys fantastic game!

Parents choice, went to bryn Edwards. Bryn was another child who had his best game so far this season, bryn was making some fantastic meters for his team, Bryn broke the line, making a brilliant run, I thought he was gone, just getting caught short. In defence was just awesome making some fantastic one on one tackles, gaining his self parents choice award!
Well done bryn fantastic game!

Top tackler went to Zack Kilgannon, Zack had another fantastic game this week, was strong in attack making plenty meters for his team and went over for a brilliant try. Zack has come on leaps and bounds and it's all about confidence with Zack, it takes a little while for us to bring that confidence out but once his confidence is high he is unstoppable. His defence was just awesome this week, making some superb one on one tackles around the legs every time. Gaining his self top tackler award! Well done Zack fantastic game!

Coaches choice went to Josh crilly, Josh had a fantastic game not only in attack where he went over for a cracking try in the corner but in his defence, for the last three weeks Josh's defence has been awesome and today has been no different, he made some fantastic one on one tackles and stopped langworthy racking them tries up and walked away with a thoroughly deserved coaches choice! Well done Josh fantastic game!

Dylan Greenall went in for a fantastic hat-trick this week, with a cracking offload from Isaac Heyes sending him over and Ethan bold made an awesome offload, sending Dylan over for the last try of the game in the corner, the thing that impressed me and Alan was you listened to everything we asked and got stuck into tackles this week, which we all know u do with ease! We can never ask anymore than u taking on board what we ask and giving it your best shot, proud of you!

Leighton glover, Leighton made a break from his own line, we thought he was just caught but managed to get his self back up and went over for a fantastic try! In defence Leighton made some brilliant one on one tackles, especially on his own line. I love the passion this little lad has for the game! Leighton took a run, attacked the line, drew the two defenders in, made a perfectly timed pass to Lewis Taylor, sending him over in the corner, these two are an awesome duo when they play together and read each other perfectly, simply stunning!
Fantastic game Leighton well done!

Shay varkulis, shay this week we thought had an awesome game in defence, making some fantastic one on one tackles around the legs, shay made a few cracking try savers, in attack shay ran the ball up strong and made one of the best offloads to Lewis Taylor that I've seen for this season! for only a few games under his belt he's doing a superb job!

Ellis Carsley, Ellis had a brilliant game again this week, ran strong with the ball and helped his team make some awesome tackles. No matter what we ask Ellis to do he stands up and does it with ease, never complains just gives it his best shot!

Zak Atherton, Zak did start out with his head down but is a child who is all about confidence, Zak got his self to line and just managed to get put down short of the line only because he didn't dive! On Zak's next run he made sure once he got to that line he was diving his self over for a fantastic first try of the season! His confidence was back! In defence we thought Zak had a brilliant game, he was making some fantastic one on one tackles near his own line, one that was a fantastic try saver! Well done Zak brilliant game!

Lewis Taylor, Lewis had a brilliant game this week, going over for two fantastic tries, one try came from an outstanding off load from Leighton glover, Leighton attacked the line, drew the defenders in then passed to Lewis to send him over, the best I have seen from these two!
Lewis received a fantastic off load from shay varkulis, which then Lewis drew the players in and passed the ball on to Rhys Crehan, was just awesome to watch between the three of them, they all worked as a team! Lewis in defence started off quiet but soon picked up and put in some superb defence, one tackle in particular that any super league coach would of been proud of!
Fantastic game Lewis well done!

Joseph Morris, Joseph we know only got one run this week and I will make it up, but made the most of the run he did get and went over for a brilliant try, in defence he is always consistent and makes some awesome one on one tackles,

Aidan houghton, Aidan we thought had a superb game in defence, making 6/6 one on one tackles, from the first play to last on his own line was just outstanding, we was all very proud of you! Made a cracking break down the wing, was unlucky not to go over! Well done Aidan fantastic game!

Josh Larkin, Josh we thought had another brilliant game in defence and is coming on in leaps and bounds this season. Josh runs strong with the ball and is awesome working as a team!

Dylan finney, it was nice to see Dylan smiling again this week, we worked with Dylan to get his confidence back up in rugby and we are glad he went home happy! Dylan was brilliant in attack and just awesome in defence making some brilliant one on one tackles!

Ethan bold, Ethan made a cracking break down the wing and we all thought he was just going over, when he was caught into touch, unlucky Ethan but was an awesome run! Ethan did mange to get his self over for a brilliant try! Ethan was brilliant in defence and helping his team when ever needed! Ethan made another fantastic break just before full time, again just got caught short at the line, Ethan wasn't leaving it at that he managed to get his arms free and made an awesome off load to Dylan Greenall to send him over for the last try of the match! Awesome!

Thank you to all the parents who brought their kids today, I know sometimes kids only get around two runs per match, the odd time it can be one run but we always try our best to do right by the kids and everything we do is for them, by the time the season stops for summer runs will average out per child, it's a hard one when we have such a big squad but it has its pros and cons like everything. One of the good things Every child gets good game time considering and this is always changed weekly so every child gets any extra game time that's a available that day. The most important thing for me and Alan is that every child is happy, has fun and along the way learns how to play rugby, they go away after every training session and match, happy, confident and gaining 20+ friends!
