.

Pilks went all the way over to Oldham st Anne's this week, Oldham having a large squad like us, meant every child had a full game!

Oldham are a well coached team and was brilliant at getting the off load, Pilks U7s managed fantastic with this and worked as a team.

We switched teams at half time so that every child played each other and give each group the same opportunity, all the lads came off shattered but happy thanks to Oldham coaches!

Alan has again done his own write up this week so I will add alan first.

Today in the fixture pilks were invited to play oldham st Annes in an away match, as usual pilks traveled in numbers so we played 2 teams my team today put in a decent performance, i told the lads to repeat last weeks game into todays match. Our captain today was josh larkin, josh won the toss so he elected to attack In the first set, josh lead by example putting in a good performance in attack and defence! pilks opened up with some good team passing and harry Williams sending rhys crehan in the corner for the first try. Ive got to say rhys has very good foot work and difficult to stop at times and comtributed in a good performance today well done rhys. Really it was end to end rugby Pilks defended well at times and on a few occassions it was 2 in a tackle which impressed me. Aidan houghton had an out standing game today in defence and attack scoring four good trys. Dylan greenall was also good in defence and attack and sneaked in cheekily in between 2 players to score. Ethan Bold played very well and his runs said it all making several yards for his team and defended well.
In the second half pilks basically did the same passed the ball out Isaac heyes ran well and nearly scored this lad gets so fustrated with himself, you did yourself proud today mate for your team, keep that head up you recieved that cup award today for a good effort well done. Todays man of the match was Kieron Manweiler earned his self man of the match for his defence and attack, his support play was brilliant and earned him team plenty yards up the field.
The down side of some games recently is we are still bunching at the play of the ball certain areas need to be worked on in training but other than that
Well done today lads! Scores will follow.

My first half was,
Pilks 4 v Oldham 6

Rhys Crehan
Aidan Houghton 2
Dylan Greenall

Second half,
Pilks 6 v Oldham 7

Rhys Crehan 2
Aidan Houghton 2
Harry Williams 2

Well done lads sounds like you had a brilliant game with Alan! Second group of lads with me, firstly I have to say how outstanding our defence was today, especially our on line defence was just awesome. I thought the lads couldn't top shevington but they certainly did, the lads really are working as team, off loads was fantastic, attack was brilliant and defence was out of this world, to hold up a very strong Oldham who attacked the line fast and hard was just outstanding for seven years of age, I couldn't be any prouder of each and every one of you to keep your defence solid and only allowing three tries in 40 minutes at this age was phenomenal, move over super league the Pilks boys are in town, how you really do work as a team was amazing!

Top tackler went to Shay Varkulis, shay again this week was outstanding in defence, he was straight of his line getting hold of Oldham then this got his team to come in and support him, shay leads by example in defence and this week was no different, his tackling especially on line was just awesome, couldn't fault the lad!
Attack shay was equally as strong sneaking in for a brilliant try in the corner but on every run, he ran hard, making plenty of meters for his team! one in particular where Lewis Taylor attacked the line, had men all over him, managed to get the off load to shay, quick hands from shay got it out to Jacob Davies, leaving the Oldham defence stunned sending Jacob over! Well done shay another phenomenal performance for you!

Coaches choice went to Jacob Davies, Jacob had another outstanding game this week in attack and defence, he really was all over the pitch making some awesome one on one tackles, his attack was equally as strong and went over for an awesome hat trick! Jacob made an awesome pass to Dan Keogh to send him over for a brilliant try! Well done Jacob another phenomenal performance from you!

Coaches choice went to Lewis Taylor, Lewis had another outstanding game this week in defence, making some awesome one on one tackles, his on line defence was fantastic, In attack Lewis was strong going over for two tries this week! Lewis attacked the line and got the ball out to his team to set up some brilliant tries again this week! Well done Lewis another phenomenal performance from you!

Our player of the month cup went to Leighton Glover, Leighton has been awesome the last two week for us and is consistent through out to be honest, this was an easy choice as he had an outstanding game today at Oldham putting in some cracking defence, brilliant one on one tackles but his on line defence was fantastic this week holding Oldham out! Attack was equally as strong going over for two fantastic tries! Well done Leighton another phenomenal performance from you!

Logan Parr, Logan was outstanding this week, this lad isn't half putting everything he has into improving his game, he made some massive one on one hits on Sunday, his on line defence was just awesome. In attack Logan really does give everything he has for his team, he takes that ball and he runs for his life making some fantastic meters for his team. Logan took his run and made brilliant meters down field, Lewis Taylor took the next, seen he was going to get caught so passed out to Logan, Logan got caught and thought I'm not having this get off me, made a cracking come back burst through Oldham defence going over for a fantastic try! Well done Logan another phenomenal performance from you!

Dan keogh, Dan in defence was his best game to date, he made some cracking one on one tackles and his on line defence was just awesome! In attack Dan was strong crashing over for a fantastic two tries, did go over for his third but was chalked off as in touch! This is the best game I've seen dan play he had an outstanding game, the only thing was the kicking out at the players, we spoke about this and dan knows this isn't acceptable in rugby but apart from this his defence and attack couldn't fault the lad!
Well done dan another phenomenal game from you!

Aidan Houghton, Aidan as always, as one of our most consistent players of the season was superb, his defence was faultless, his attack was outstanding going over for a try for us and I heard four in the other team was brilliant! What is impressing me the most about Aidan is how far he has come from the start, aidan has always been a good confident player, it was just little things of hight tackles and not passing out but now his tackles are a lot lower, he is now looking for the off load and working as a team, sending his team mates over, the difference in you in a few weeks is fantastic! Your on line defence was super this week! Well done Aidan another phenomenal performance from you!

Ethan Bold, Ethan played for me and Alan this week and I heard he did a brilliant job for them, with me Ethan made some awesome meters for his team, he is confident when running with the ball and made some fantastic tackles with his team, his on line defence held solid holding Oldham out! This lad has bags of heart and is a fantastic team player!
Well done Ethan another phenomenal performance from you!

I have to mention Elliott Davies, having got up Sunday morning with blisters and couldn't really put much pressure on his foot so decided he couldn't play, still came and travelled all the way to Oldham and sat on the side lines and behaved impeccably was true team spirit, get well soon Elliott!

First game was,
Pilks 7 v Oldham 2

Shay varkulis

Dan Keogh
