.

Pilks entertained portico this week.
With quite a few of the kids in the same class you can imagine they was all brimming with confidence waiting for their class mates! Having said this all the kids was brilliant, little bit of niggling towards the end but was soon nipped in the bud by both sets of coaches!

Pilks defence was scrappy in parts and a lot of one man rugby was on show to start with, after the first 10 pilks started to settle down and we seen some outstanding defence and awesome off loads being made, second half I thought the kids could of been smarter with the ball and defence was scrappy but that would just be me giving some constructive criticism!

Captain today was Zak Atherton, Zak had been waiting for this game as he was up against his class mates. Zak put in a strong attack and carried the ball well making meters for his team. In defence Zak put in a good shift and was helping his team when ever he was needed. Was nice to see Zak running with confidence!
Well done brilliant game!

Captain today was Dan Keogh, dan put in a strong attack and helped his team when ever it was needed! Dan put in a few solid one on one tackles and his defence is improving every week!
Well done Dan brilliant game!

Man of the match went to Isaac heyes, i have been working on Isaac in training this week and getting him to have confidence to run through the players rather than stop, we kept going over and over the same drill and by the end of training he was beaming with getting past the defenders, he brought everything we have worked on into the match this week, I have to say this was Isaac's best defensive effort to date, he was going in making tackles rather than just helping out, in attack he ran with such confidence and force so much so that he went crashing over for a fantastic try. You fully deserved your man of the match this week fantastic game Isaac!

Top tackler went to Logan parr, Logan the last few weeks has been awesome for us in defence and attack. He sometimes doesn't get noticed by parents on how much work he does put in! He went crashing over for two awesome tries this week, but it's his defence that impresses me as he never took his eye off the ball! putting in some cracking one on one tackles! Fantastic game Logan!

Parents choice went to Lewis Taylor this week, Lewis I have to say put in some outstanding defence, he was first off his line, making some awesome one on ones. His attack was equally as strong and he made some brilliant passes to his team mates. Lewis went over for a brilliant try this week thanks to Shay Varkulis, shay ran hard and managed to make a break through portico defence, Lewis backed him all the way, shay getting caught, instantly looked for the man seen he had Lewis on the wing, made the off load perfectly leaving the wing wide open for Lewis to run in a fantastic try!
Awesome team work!
Well done Lewis fantastic game!

Coaches choice went to Joseph Morris, Joseph sometimes gets over looked with trophies as he is so consistent every week., he was strong in attack and went over for a brilliant try turning the portico defence inside out and this is what gained him coaches choice for his smartness with the ball! Well done Joseph fantastic game!

Coaches choice went to Ellis carsley, Ellis had a brilliant game in attack this week, using his hand off he went crashing over for an awesome try! Ellis gained coaches choice as he impressed me with his determination in attack, he didn't give up pushing to make plenty meters for his team on every carry.
Well done Ellis fantastic game!

We had a lot of kids this week but I wouldn't like to leave any one out as that wouldn't be fair,so I will just be brief with every child that played.

Leighton glover, Leighton was brilliant in attack and went over for two fantastic tries, as always Leighton was strong in defence!

Rhys crehan, rhys was strong in attack and helped his team in defence when they needed him!

Shay varkulis, shay was awesome in attack and made some fantastic off loads, as always shay was strong in defence!

Josh Larkin, josh seen the space out wide this week and went over for a fantastic try! In defence he helped his team when they needed him!

Dylan Greenall, Dylan did get sent off this week for putting a finger up to the ref, regardless of who the referee is, this isn't acceptable!( I've only added this as some have been wondering why), Take nothing away from dylan when he was on the pitch in attack he was strong and went over for a brilliant hat trick!

Harry williams, Harry went over for two fantastic tries this week and was awesome in defence!

Ethan bold, Ethan ran hard and strong with the ball and was looking for the gaps, in defence he helped his team when needed!

Zack Kilgannon, went over for near enough a full length try, brilliantly balanced was just awesome! Zack was also solid in defence this week!

Kieron Manweiler, Kieron ran strong with ball and helped his team out in defence when needed!

Aidan houghton, aidan as always was awesome in defence and went over for a brilliant try! You're impressive with your off loads these last few weeks!

Dylan finney, Dylan was strong in attack, was pushing for that try just getting caught short, in defence he helped his team when needed.

I just want to end this week with, we have had our ups and downs so far this season as a team but have come out the other side. Everything me and Alan do is for the benefit of every single child that comes along. Parents won't always agree and that's fine every one has their opinion but my concern is the lads and as long as they are happy I'm happy.

Our helpers we have make a massive impact on how well organised our matches are, without these it wouldn't be possible, they take a lot of stick for different reasons but regardless what goes on in their lives they are the ones who are there week in week out. We have Jacqui who keeps the score and interchanges the lads, as u all know she has a full time job and has a little girl who is unwell, on a weekend she could come to the game like every one else and just watch her child but she knew nicola had her hands full as we have a large squad, her name was put forward to help and Jacqui said she didn't mind. She sometimes misses her own child playing in order to make sure ur child is happy. The helpers make sure with 21 kids that they get on and off the pitch and within their time slots as that minute longer can take it away from another child, if a child comes off they then have to find a way to fit them back in when they are ready to go back on now with 21 kids and no spaces it isn't an easy task but they manage it. When your child comes off in floods of tears they are the ones wiping your child's tears away and making sure they are ok to go back on, missing their own child playing. Kellie has a full time job and 2 boys to attend to but she comes every week and takes pictures and spends hours after the game sorting through them all of your children so u have all these fantastic memories to keep and look back on. You often find when their child needs them they say oh u will be fine go on so they don't miss that picture, that video that try off your child. So please remember our helpers do a massive amount of work and deserve as much support and encouragement as we possible can, without these none of this would be possible.
