Pilks went over to Golborne this week with an afternoon kick off.

I have to say Golborne have fantastic coaches, volunteers and a brilliant set up at their ground!

I thought we was scrappy in defence but good in attack in parts. I personally thought we was too bothered about scoring than defending and this showed in our performance. Taking nothing away from Golborne They never gave up and was breaking our defence until the final whistle all credit to the lads at Golborne they gave it their all!

I gave trophies this week on the basis of, Golborne came and gave us their man of the match so I awarded their choice, two coaches choice and parents choice. I didn't give the top tackler as being honest I don't think any one stood out to deserve it I thought we all played the same in defence yesterday so wasn't fair to give it to one child, I noticed this caused a raised eye brow and a few choice words ( I have eyes in the back of my head me ha!)

Captain was Shay Varkulis, Shay I thought put in a few brilliant one on one tackles, his attack this week again was really strong and went crashing over for two fantastic tries! Shays backing up of the players was awesome this week as well!
Well done Shay brilliant game!

Captain and parents choice was Elliott Davies, this game was perfect for Elliott and we really seen him come into his own putting in an outstanding effort in attack. made a break running down the wing, Elliott seen he wasn't getting through so he looked for the offload and made a fantastic pass to shay Varkulis sending him over. He also made another fantastic break from his own line, just getting caught short off Golborne line, fantastic effort today Elliott and a well deserved parents choice!

Man of the match went to Lewis Taylor, Golborne came over and said they had a child for their choice of man of the match, we don't always do this but being honest I was stuck with trophies this week. They then explained their choice was Lewis as they thought he had a blinder of a game!
Lewis did put in a few brilliant one on one tackles and was strong in attack going over for a fantastic try, personally I don't think this was one of lewis' best games but Golborne seen differently and he was awarded man of the match!
Well done Lewis fantastic game!

Coaches choice went to Kieron Manweiler, Kieron put in a fantastic effort this week, he ran strong and hard with the ball, just getting caught short of the line, he helped his team out in defence when needed but it was his effort in attack that gained him this award! Well done Kieron fantastic game!

Coaches went to Josh Larkin, if I'm being honest for the last three weeks josh has stepped up his game and has had three fantastic games on the bounce, he listens to everything I ask of him and today he took the ball on his own line and I told him to run hard, josh seen the gap and went sprinting his way down the wing, had a cheeky look who was behind him and went crashing over for a fantastic try! josh made a couple of brilliant one on one tackles and was their to help his team when ever they needed him. Awesome this week josh well done!

Our try scorers are as follows, as we had 11 different try scorers this week it was a great opportunity to write about these lads and special mentions going to every one that's played!

Ellis Carsley, I thought you had a fantastic game this week and gave your all in every part of the game, your defence is what impressed this week as you was up and in a lot of the tackles, more of this next week please! Went over for a brilliant try in the corner, Well done ellis!

Dylan Greenall, this was a perfect game for Dylan and we seen him step up in defence, was fantastically behaved on the side lines! Also going over for a fantastic try for us this week, well done Dylan!

Logan Parr, Logan again this week put in a fantastic performance in attack, took the ball from half way, made a cracking hand off (glad You wasn't running at me), went racing over for a try in the corner!
Well done Logan!

Jacob Davies, Jacob went over for a great try, with strong running, straight through Golborne defence and over for a brilliant try! Helped his team in defence when needed! Well done Jacob!

Rhys Crehan, Rhys had a good game in attack this week and went over for a brilliant try! Helped his team in defence when they needed him! Well done rhys!

Dan Keogh, Dan took his run on the half way, proving just too quick for Golborne defence went over for a fantastic try! Dan also put in some brilliant defence this week, keep it up! Well done Dan!

Josh crilly, josh took his run, taking on the Golborne defence he stepped his way through to go over for a fantastic try!
Well done josh!

Ethan Bold, Ethan made a fantastic break from his own line, cutting through to the wing and proved to quick for Golborne defence, going over for a brilliant try in the corner! well done Ethan!

Isaac Heyes, Isaac ran strong with the ball and helped his team in defence when they needed him, did take a bang to the nose but soon came back on for his team, fantastic bravery isaac!

Joseph Morris,Joseph made a cracking break but Golborne proving too strong, just getting caught at their line, put in some brilliant defence, well done Joseph!

Harry Williams, Harry again made a fantastic break down the wing but Golborne proving to strong, helped his team in defence when they needed him, well done Harry!

I have spoken to lads regarding behaviour on the side lines this week, hopefully next week will be better!

Thanks to Jacqui Varkulis for all your help and support you give to all the lads every game, it's much appreciated. After all you're our "no 1 helper"!! (hmmmm Gary carsley)!!!

Last but not least so that laurel doesn't have a hissy fit, a massive thanks to Alan Greenall who did a fantastic job of refereeing the game yesterday! ( blue peter badge is in the post)
