Some Great team work!

Pilks welcomed Halton hornet greens this week! U7s held a minutes silence in remembrance for little Isaac haggerty who sadly lost his battle with cancer.

Halton being a new side and exactly how we was last season, Halton didn't make it an easy ride for Pilks on occasions, they took some of our bigger lads down! What was lovely to see was when Halton did get over that try line how excited the lads was and the team ran to congratulate them! Halton have a fantastic coach and carried on right until the final whistle!

Things was made easier for us this week and we managed to get a 14/2 win with plenty of different lads scoring today! It was another hard week with runs as run no 1 took their run got caught so run 2 followed and scored so we then had to defend a set, next turn run 3 took their turn and scored, that was five minutes gone and a new set of kids had to be on! If We didn't interchange every five minutes Then we would leave it open for kids not get game time and then we would have another problem. We only had 15 kids this week so it wasn't the amount of children it was simply a lot of tries being scored, We had kids taking other kids runs which happened on a few occasions so then them lads didn't get another run as tries was scored! Me and Alan do try to make it as fair as possible but when your on the pitch and trying to help the lads and then kids are forgetting run numbers so other kids are taking their runs, or u have kids who are not giving others chance to take theirs it's hard to keep track! They're 7 years of age and all get really excited as soon as they see the try line, so we all need to remember they're only children and do get carried away with the game and games like this will happen.

Captains this week was, Harry Williams. Harry had a cracking game this week and put in some solid defence and also went over for a nice little try! Harry's game impressed me and alan this week and he walked away with coaches choice award! Well done Harry fantastic game!

Our second captain was Josh crilly, Josh is only a little lad but has no fear when running the ball in so always makes cracking meters for his team. Josh is equally as solid in defence and was first off his line not allowing Halton to make a
Meter! Some fantastic team work from Josh and Rhys Crehan on the wing! Josh also went over for a great try this week ! Well done Josh fantastic game!

Man of the match went to Bryn Edwards, Bryn had a brilliant game this week! This lad hardly speaks but always gives his all in the game! He misses runs but never complains he is just happy to play rugby! Me and alan thought he was brilliant in attack and defence but more than anything it isn't all about how you play it's about over all attitude on and off the field and he is just the perfect little player! Bryn also went over for the very first try of the game! Well done Bryn fantastic game!

Parents choice went to Dylan Greenall, Dylan had a brilliant game this week. He was first off his line up into the tackles in his set stopping Halton in their tracks! Dylan also ran his way over the try line for a cracking little hat trick, Dylan was on the wing with Josh Larkin, Josh took his run seen Dylan's wing was open made a cracking off load sending Dylan straight over! Fantastic team work! Fantastic game this week Dylan well done!

Top tackler went to Lewis Taylor, Lewis and Dylan came up together for parents choice so we gave Lewis top tackler as this is why the parents picked him for his defence! Lewis made some great one on one tackles but he equally was involved in some fantastic team work with Leighton Glover these two are fantastic on that wing and put in some big hits! Lewis went over for a great try in the corner, right in front of his mum! Well done Lewis fantastic game!

Leighton Glover, I was made aware after the game Leighton only had 2 runs today with the amount of tries scored, We will try my best to fix this in next weeks game! Leighton did manage to get his self over the try line just before the full time whistle went! Taking away from the tries was this lad in defence, he made some fantastic one on one tackles, Leighton is on the wing with Lewis Taylor and are fantastic as working as a pair and talking to each other, they both read the game and put in some awesome defence helping each other out! Well done Leighton fantastic game!

Zak Atherton, Me and Alan thought Zak was great in attack this week and made some strong breaks just couldn't manage to get over that try line! Zak put his fair share in defence and was always in helping his team mates out! Well done Zak fantastic game!

Dan Keogh, Dan was strong in attack this week running strong with the ball just couldn't break haltons defence! Dan was equally as strong in defence and put in some great one on one tackles! Well done Dan fantastic game!

Ethan bold, Ethan made a cracking break down the wing Halton just managed to catch him and stop him right near the try line, very unlucky today! He helped his team out when needed in defence! Well done Ethan fantastic game!

Zack Kilgannon, Zack missed out on runs this week and only managed to get one run, he made me aware after the game and I will try my best to fix this next week for him! The run Zack did have he made the most of and went over for a cracking try! Zack is equally as strong in defence! Well done Zack fantastic game!

Rhys Crehan, Rhys had another great game this week and made some fantastic meters for his team when running the ball up! Rhys was also another child who was first up out the line stopping Halton gaining any meters, he also went over for a cracking try in the corner! Some fantastic team work in defence with Rhys and Josh Crilly on the wing! Well done Rhys fantastic game!

Joseph Morris, Joseph had another cracking game today and made the most
Of his run and went over for a fantastic try! Joseph was equally as strong in defence and made some cracking one on one tackles on the bounce! Well done Joseph fantastic game!

Logan Parr, Logan was strong in attack this week and went over for another great try today, Logan was strong in defence and made a couple of great one on one tackles and was always there to help his team, well done Logan fantastic game!

Josh Larkin, Josh ran strong and was unlucky to get caught just short of the try line! Josh did this week make a cracking off load, he could of easily took this ball his self and probably would of been over but he seen the wing empty, offloaded to Dylan Greenall and sent him over for a great try! Brilliant team work lads! well done Josh fantastic game!

Jacob Davies, just a few things We wanted to say about this lad this week as a lot don't see or hear things on and off the pitch! This lad hadn't had a run well past 10 minutes into the game, he didn't make a fuss or get down in the dumps, He just came over and said I haven't had a run yet and made me aware, when he did have his run he straight away said thanks!
Jacob is a lovely little lad who always puts his team first, if lads haven't had runs or down in the dumps, they haven't scored he is the first one there to offer his run to try and help them! He is the first at the try line to congratulate his team mates when they score! On the side lines he's always encouraging and telling lads come on we can do this! I just wanted to show it isn't all about runs, tries and defence it's about working as a team and helping them on and off the pitch, putting another child's happiness before your own was awesome of Jacob and only 7 years of age! Jacob also went over for two cracking tries this week!
A credit to Pilks U7s!
Well done Jacob fantastic game!
