Pilkington Recs v Oldham St Anne’s Greens

.

Pilks went over to Oldham St Anne’s.

The game was a mixture this week, first half we lost to much ball and dropped off far to many tackles. Oldham was scoring for fun. Second half Pilks picked their heads up and went from 3-0 down to 4-2 down then to 5-6 up and finishing some say 7-6 up some say a draw so we went with the draw as us coaches wasn’t sure and a draw was a fair result as I thought both teams put in a fantastic performance. Oldham was awesome first half, Pilks was awesome second half so both teams deserve the praise and it was end to end rugby. Proud of the kids for keeping their heads up, getting stuck in and working for each other to put in one of your best performances so far this season and you all had your parents biting their nails that’s what you call a fantastic game of rugby! Rugby was the winner this week well done!

Man of the match was Jacob Davies, Jacob put on a fantastic performance again this week, he’s been awesome for us every week and our most consistent player so far this season. Jacob has a natural ability for sport and could play anything and would shine. His team looks to him for support and Jacob always looks to his team to support them. People won’t always see some things on the field or hear but Jacob supported lots of players this week and thrived off this. Scoring a fantastic hat trick today with some great footwork and sheer strength to break his self out of tackles and go over that line! When listening to players and their reasons for awards, every child can’t praise Jacob enough which is nice to hear how highly the kids speak of him. You took some high shots this week but I’m massively proud of you for working through your frustration and channelling it, into a positive and coming back on as you didn’t want to let your team down. Well done Jacob you was equally an outstanding tackling machine this week. Awesome performance keep it up.

Man of the match was Ellis Carsley, Ellis put in by far his best performance in defence this week
Not only was involved in the majority of tackles he was awesome with his one on ones and was like a brick wall when players ran at him. I can’t praise you enough Ellis this week in your defence you paired up with Logan in parts and it was fantastic to watch. In attack you ran strong with the ball and your keeping them legs pumping and making brilliant meters for your team and you keep tight hold of that ball when crashing through which is great to see. Well done Ellis you have gave your all this week keep it up.

Tackler of the game was Harry Williams, Harry had a stormer of a game this week and put in some awesome one on ones. Harry really did put his body on the line for us this week and made some fantastic try savers, your defence this week was superb and I can’t praise you enough for this you put in some outstanding bone crunching tackles and topped the tackle count. Your work load was brilliant this week. You had a fantastic all round game Harry and it was nice to see you enjoying your game, well done keep up the fantastic work.

Players player went to Dylan Greenall, Dylan was awesome this week for us, he decided to run at the biggest players and if you know Dylan he’s one of our littlest but god he isn’t half a strong tough little player who ran at them with force and put in some great footwork to create a gap and go near enough full length for a fantastic try. He ran rings round Oldham, managing to pull the same play off for a second time and go over for another awesome try. Once you see Dylan break that defence you know it’s a certain try as no one is going to catch him, he even has a cheeky look to see if he can relax off or run harder Ha! Dylan was fantastic in defence this week and was tackling well above his weight. He worked brilliantly with his team mates but there was one tackle in particular that Dylan made one on one and was by far Dylan’s tackle of the season to date, it was an outstanding text book tackle, your technique was perfect! Keep up the fantastic speed and toughness Dylan you’ve had an awesome game well done!

Parent choice was Logan Parr, your go forward so far this season Logan is awesome, I wouldn’t like you to run at me how you run at players. Your an outstanding forward and always make the most meters within the team and take us down field, for a forward you can’t half shift and leaving us thinking just how does he do it. Your work load this week was superb, your defence was awesome and your attack was outstanding. you made some cracking one on ones today and I know players will feel the impact as you put your all into it. You like harry made some bone crunching tackles. Keep up all the hard work so far this season Logan your killing it. More than anything for me as a coach it’s nice to see you enjoying your rugby! Well done fantastic performance.

Special mention goes to Ethan Bold who put in a fantastic effort to get to the line but was just short or I would of give it. Your effort didn’t go un-noticed keep up the hard work.

Rhys crehan I thought you put in some great footwork this week making plenty meters for your team and I thought you paired up fantastically with some of your team to pull off some great moves.

Thanks to the parents for bringing their child this week.
Thanks to Suzanne Davies for the help with match day equipment we appreciate it.

Thanks to Kellie Parr for again brilliant pictures and sorting through all that video footage, we appreciate all your hard work on match days and all week making everything perfect for us and the memories your making of the kids for their parents.

Thanks to Wendy Carsley for interchanges and score which we know takes up all your concentration that sometimes you don’t get to watch the game but we appreciate all your hard work.

Thanks to Leanne Atherton for the video we appreciate all the work you put in trying to get the best footage possible.
