Today Pilks hosted to crosfields for a fantastic game of rugby in some nice sunshine!

1st 10, Pilks started off slow and we seen crosfields go over for a great try in the first minute. Pilks struggled to keep hold of the ball and crosfields took full advantage who went over for another great try four minutes in, Pilks still struggled to get over the line with some great defence from crosfields. Coming up to the last minute and crosfields manage to over for another great try making it 12-0 to them.

Second 10, Pilks allowed crosfields to score first in the first three minutes but after a re group and a talk Pilks started to pick up and play some great rugby and we seen a fantastic come back from 20-0. First great try came from Jacob Davies six minutes in. Crosfields hit straight back with a great try on the seventh minute. Pilks kept their heads up and we seen Jacob Davies, Aidan Houghton and Dylan Greenall all go over for great tries and the score ended at half time 20-16 to crosfields.

The lads had a talk at half time and we all came back in great spirits.

First try went to crosfields in the first minute 24-16 but Pilks soon re grouped and hit back with a great try from Dylan Greenall. 24-20 Crosfields hit back a minute later 28-20 but Pilks soon hit back with two quick tries by a great interception and forcing knock ons seeing Dan Keogh 28-24 and Aidan Houghton go over 28-28. Pilks held crosfields out for the next few sets but then sloppy defence seen crosfields go over for another great try. 32-28. Pilks wasn’t finished and managed to get another great try from Aidan Houghton just as the third set was over meaning Pilks and crosfields was drawing 32-32.

Dan keogh also put everything he had for his team this week and went over for a great try, put in some superb defence and also breaking his collarbone putting his body on the line for his team!

Well done lads it was Fantastic team effort today and was nice to see you all working for each other and putting on a fantastic game of game of rugby. Proud of every single one of you. It was also nice to see and hear how happy parents was with the performance this week.

Man of the match picked by one of our sponsors under the sticks went to Dan keogh, Dan had a stormer of a game this week, dan ran up some really hard balls that no one really wanted and went over for two awesome tries. Dans defence was superb and he tackled well above his weight putting in some cracking one on ones. These last few weeks dans game I can’t fault he’s really got his head on and pushed his self to do better without any prompting from coaches he’s just brought it to his game and I can’t fault any of his performances. Last time we played crosfields dan put in his best performance since playing for Pilks but today he even topped that. Most importantly for me today was your discipline it could of been so easy with some decisions to get frustrated but u kept it together and focused on your performance proud of you Dan! Got injured today and our first aid was concerned from the word go and dan was sent to the walk in where he was told he had a bad break and had broken his collarbone, so unlucky but your team are all proud of how brave you was and the performance you put in for them today and hope you make a speedy recovery as their going to miss you on that wing it won’t be the same without you! Well done Dan!

Tackler of the game went to Lewis Taylor, Lewis put in some fantastic defence on bigger lads and paired up well with Dylan Greenall and they both gave each other great confidence to put in some superb defence on that wing. Lewis also did some great balls this week with some fantastic quick plays from Rhys crehan and these two also paired up fantastic this week and it was nice to watch them work with each other. Gave a fantastic team talk to the lads this week to lift their spirits. It was nice to see lewis back to his usual happy self enjoying his rugby. Well done Lewis!

Players player went to Dylan Greenall, I keep saying this but I think I may as well just let him keep this trophy for the rest of the season! Best trophy you get this when your own players value all your hard work and have so much believe in you which every single one of them did today. Dylan went over for four awesome tries this week and none was easy tries he just made them look easy. His team was looking to Dylan this week to pull them out and get them over that line or make them plenty yards which he does so effortlessly. Dylan’s defence was awesome today he put in some cracking one on ones and really did stop lads three times his size he didn’t care they just wasn’t coming past him ha, he paired up fantastically with Lewis Taylor in attack and defence. I’m struggling what to say with Dylan as he’s been so consistent so far this season and is winning a trophy near enough every week I can’t fault this lads, strength, determination, ability and discipline. This was your best all round game I’ve seen you play for Pilks there isn’t even any constructive criticism I can even give you. You totally shined this week and really did pull out all the stops for your team mates. I’m so proud of not only how far your coming as a player but how we have worked together and the bond we have this season makes me so proud to be your coach!
Well done Dylan your hard work is paying off.

Parents choice went to Ellis Carsley, I Really thought Ellis put in a fantastic shift in that middle and put in some fantastic defence, he really did work his socks off for his team. Ellis ran hard with the ball as a forward and was always waiting to take the hard balls up for his team making some awesome meters. Ellis also came up on players player so this equally didn’t go un-noticed by your team mates or your coaches. Your doing awesome so far this season Ellis. Your a delight to coach and a role model to your team on discipline, never moans, never argues just does everything we ask and gives us his best, that’s all we could ever ask for. Proud of you Ellis keep it up!

Thanks to all their parents for bringing their kids this week I appreciate it.
