Fourth tackle Aidan Houghton try to push over but was held up. 5th and last seen Logan Parr bulldoze his way over the line and the try was given that was the game 7-6 Pilks.
Fantastic game of rugby from both teams. Defence was awesome from both sides but I have to say I think our defence was outstanding and we really did shine on the day in this, all credit to crosfields who on the day was outstanding with their ball passing and Pilks at times struggled to deal with them.
Fantastic game played in fantastic spirits. Close games are how it should be and all the lads backing each other up and all putting the work in is fantastic to watch. We’re proud of you all well done lads.
Opposition Man of the match went to Aidan Houghton who played out of his skin not only in attack going over for a fantastic hat trick, he set up a fantastic try of Dylan Greenall’s. His defence was just awesome making some fantastic one on ones. Aidan is consistent every week and is always pushing for a trophy. Well done Aidan another superb game from you.
Man of the match was joint with Ellis Carsley And Ben Looker. Our forwards sometimes think we get on their backs and we do because we know how much your capable of and today it really showed and this is why they stood out today, doing all we asked and pushed for the trophies.
Ben Looker I asked you to run straight and hard exactly like you do in training, if you make impact like you do in training you will sail through the defence. You really tried this week and gave me 100%, you ran hard with the ball and you didn’t give up you kept them legs driving forward and made awesome meters for us, not only that you went over for a fantastic try. Believe in yourself like I believe in you and you will achieve everything you want to achieve. Proud of you Ben well done.
Ellis Carsley, again I asked you to run hard and keep driving those legs and you did exactly that and didn’t give up, you gave me your all and it really showed. Your defence was awesome again this week and your confidence is growing every week. Never get upset for sticking up for your team, you stood up and stuck up for your team mate who was hurt and for that I am proud of you. Superb game Ellis well done.
Top tackler went joint this week to Logan Parr and shay Varkulis.
Logan Parr, Logan you was outstanding this week in defence your one on ones was stunning and was your highest since you have played for Pilks. For a forward playing a full game in that heat simply awesome to put in the work load that you did this week for your team. Attack was equally as strong and went over two brilliant tries. One being the winning try for your team when you bulldozed your way over. I can’t praise you enough on your defence this week Logan it really was superb, keep it up proud of you. Well done.
Shay Varkulis, shay is consistent every week in defence and never lets his team down. He’s solid in his performance and he put in an outstanding amount of work for Pilks this week, he was absolutely shattered running from wing to wing making covering Tackles. Shay was equally as strong in attack and has really come into this season with a fearless attitude and running the hard balls in for his team making fantastic meters. Well done shay proud of you.
Players player went to for the third week running Dylan Greenall, Dylan had another fantastic week this week. Took a superb ball from Aidan houghton and out ran crosfields to go over for the try. Dylan was equally as strong in defence and took on lads double his size, with one tackle in particular he shot up making a massive impact one on one which wud of been a certain try but he wrapped that ball up and stopped crosfields in their tracks, was an awesome try saver. Dylan is loving running up the hard balls and likes to take on the bigger players and he does this with ease making great meters for Pilks all with a smile on his face. Your toughness is just fantastic. Proud of you Dylan well done.
Parents choice was an easy pick this week for everyone and went to Dan keogh, Dan ran the ball up strong this week but it was his defence that stood out and was his best defensive effort since being with Pilks it was simply stunning to watch. To see One of our littlest players put in so much work on players double his size and a lot of them was on his own was fantastic. Dan was making 3-4 tackles on the bounce in some sets and I can not praise him enough this week he really stood up for his team and absolutely shined. His mum must be his lucky charm, he will have to bring her every week. Well done dan proud of you.
Massive praise for all of you this week you all stood up and put in bags of work for your team and all can give yourself a pat on the back. All the coaches are proud of every single one of you. Well done.
